Clearing Browser Cache

These detailed instructions will guide you through the process of removing your web browser cache.

NOTE: Please be advised, the following Web Browsers are supported by PenTeleData Technical Support:

  • Chrome v80.0 (Windows, MacOS)
  • Firefox v78.0 or higher (Windows, MacOS)
  • Safari v13.0 or higher (MacOS)
  • Safari v5.7 or higher (Windows)
  • MS Edge v80.0 or higher (Windows 10)

All mobile platform users should ensure that they the most updated browser by visiting the Apple store or Google play.  In addition, we have provided additional support as a convenience to our customers for outdated software/browsers.

Microsoft Edge

  1. With Microsoft Edge open, click on the three dots at the top right, then click on settings towards the bottom of the list.


     
  2. On the left side, select “Privacy & security” and then click on the “Choose what to clear” button under Browsing Data section.


     
  3. In the next window that appears, make sure the following boxes have check marks… “Cookies and saved website data" and “Cached data and files.”  When done, select the "Clear" button, located at the bottom of this image.  Depending on frequency of clearing data cache, this could take several minutes.


     
  4. Finally, restart Microsoft Edge.

 

Google Chrome (Windows)

  1. With Google Chrome open, click on the three dots at the top right, then click on Settings.

     
  2. With the Settings page open, scroll down until you see the Privacy and Security section and click on “Clear browsing data” at the bottom of this section.


     
  3. With the Clear browsing data box open, select the appropriate time range and make sure the following boxes have check marks… “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files.”


     
  4. After, click Clear data.  Finally, restart Google Chrome.

 

Google Chrome (Mac)

  1. At the top of the page select "Clear browsing data".

  2. Select how far you would like the clear the cache. i.e. "the beginning of time". Make sure that the "Empty the cache" checkbox is check and select "Clear browsing data".

 

Google Chrome- IOS (iPhone)

  1. To begin, tap on “Chrome” app, once open, tap the “…” menu in the lower right.
     
  2. In the menu that appears, tap “History.”
     
  3. In the “History” window, tap the option “Clear Browsing Data…” found in the lower left corner.
     
  4. On the top of this window, tap “Time Range.”  Select “All Time,” tap the “Back” action item
     
  5. The window will refresh, and the option “Clear Browsing Data” will appear along the bottom. Tap “Clear Browsing Data.”
     
  6. A pop window will appear, choose “Clear Browser Data” once again. When finished, choose “Done,” and “Done,” once again to exit the “History” window.

Google Chrome - Android

  1. To begin, tap “Chrome app," once open, tap the “…” menu in the top right corner.

  2. In the menu that appears, tap on "Settings."

  3. Next, scroll down to privacy, tap on "Clear Browsing Data." 

  4. Then tap "Advanced" tab, tap “Time Range” and choose "All Time." 

  5. Highlight “Cookies” and “Cached Files.” 

  6. Tap on “Clear Data,” a pop-up menu will appear for “Important Sites,” tap “Clear.”
  7. When done, tap the arrow on the top left to exit the “Settings” window.

Firefox (Windows)

  1. With Mozilla Firefox open, click on the three bars icon towards the top right, then click on Options.


     
  2. On the left side, click on Privacy & Security and then scroll down until see the Cookies and Site Data section.
     
  3. In this section, click on “Clear Data…” and make sure the following boxes have check marks… “Cookies and Site Data” and “Cached Web Content”
     

  4.  
  5. After, click “Clear” and then click “Clear Now” on the following window that opens.


     
  6. Finally, restart Mozilla Firefox.

Firefox (Mac)

  1. Open Firefox, click "History" from the top menu, and select "Clear Recent History".
  2. Click "Last Hour" and select "Everything".
  3. Place a checkmark next to "Cache".
  4. Click "Clear Now".

Safari (Mac)

  1. To begin, open Safari, from the drop down menu, select “Preferences.”


     
  2. Select the “Advanced” tab along the top.


     
  3. Place a check mark in “Show Develop menu in menu bar,” and then close the “Preferences” window.


     
  4. From the drop-down menu, select “Empty Cache.”

Safari - IOS (iPhone)

  1. To begin, tap “Settings,” locate “Safari” and tap to open.
     
  2. Scroll down the screen and locate, “Clear History and Website Data.”
     
  3. Tap the option, and a pop up will appear, tap “Clear History and Data.”
     
  4. When done, close the “Settings” window.

Internet Explorer 9+

  1. Begin by opening up Internet Explorer 9 and pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete and skip to step 3 or select "Internet options" from the "Tools" button at the top.


     
  2. The "Internet Options" dialogue will now appear, click on "Delete" under "Browsing history".

     
  3. The "Delete Browsing History" dialogue will now appear, place a check next to "Temporary Internet files" and click "Delete."

     
  4. Once finished you will return to the "Internet Options", click "OK" to finish.

Internet Explorer 8

  1. Begin by opening up Internet Explorer and pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete and skip to step 3 or select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu at the top.
  2. The "Internet Options" dialogue will now appear, click on "Delete" under "Browsing history".
  3. The "Delete Browsing History" dialogue will now appear, place a check next to "Temporary Internet files" and click "Delete".
  4. The Temporary Internet Files are now being deleted, depending on the speed of your computer this may take a few minutes.
  5. Once finished, you will return to the "Internet Options", click "OK" to finish.
