High Email Storage Space usage can be caused by a number of reasons:

  • The most common cause for additional Email Storage taking place is a mis-configured email client using a POP3 configuration, with the option enabled to leave email messages on the server after they have been retrieved and read. To resolve this problem, please call our Technical Support Department. We can review your settings and make the appropriate changes within your email software, if necessary.
  • Another cause would be the number of email attachments you have received in the past thirty days. Large attachments will take up more space on the server and will therefore increase your amount of Email Storage Space.
  • As with deleting messages within an email client, simply deleting a message on My PenTeleData Webmail moves it to the trash folder but not completely off the system, therefore, all email captured during that 30day window will be reported.  If you are aware of larger attachments, download them to your device and delete any unwanted or needed messages.
  • Also, in an effort to ensure all messages are received, our Webmail system will remove deleted items within your trash folder that are older than 30days.  Similar with Spam, please be sure to occasionally review.
