Google Chrome Windows & Macintosh (Importing/Exporting)

Importing your Bookmarks

  1. Open Google Chrome and click "…" from the upper right-hand corner, and select "Bookmarks" from the menu bar.

NOTE: Macintosh users, select “Bookmarks…” from the pull-down menu.  Next, choose “Bookmarks Manager."

2. The “Bookmarks” dialogue window will now appear, select “…” from the upper right, and choose "Import bookmarks."

3. Navigate to the backup file and click "Open."  Depending on how many bookmarks you have, it may take a few minutes to complete the import process.  When finished the wizard will close.

 

Exporting your Bookmarks

  1. Open Google Chrome and click "…" from the upper right-hand corner, and select "Bookmarks" from the menu bar.


    NOTE: Macintosh users, select “Bookmarks…” from the pull-down menu.  Next, choose “Bookmarks Manager.”

2. The “Bookmarks” dialogue window will now appear, select “…” from the upper right, and choose "Export bookmarks."


3. Navigate to where you would like to save the file and click "Save."  Depending on how many bookmarks you have, it may take a few minutes to complete the export process.  When finished the wizard will close.


Microsoft Edge (Importing/Exporting)

Importing your Favorites

  1. Begin by opening Microsoft Edge and selecting "Favorites…" from the upper right menu, next choose the “….”  From this menu, choose “Import favorites.”


  2. The " Settings" window will now appear.  Select either "Import" option from the below browser choices. 

3.  After selecting your choice of browser to import, the “Import browser data” dialogue will now appear.  Select your desired options from the list, next choose “Import.”  

4. Depending on how many favorites you have, it may take a few minutes to complete the import process. When importing is done, restart Microsoft Edge for the changes.


Exporting your Favorites

1. Begin by opening Microsoft Edge and selecting "Favorites…" from the upper right menu, next choose the “….”  From this menu, choose “Export favorites.”


2. The “Save As” dialogue window will now appear.  Using the Windows navigation options, choose the destination to save the file.  To simplify the process of importing your "Favorites" at a later time, choose a folder that is easy to access such as the desktop or documents folder. Click "Save" to continue.  Depending on how many favorites you have, it may take a few minutes to complete the export process. When it is done exporting, click "Finish."

Importing your Bookmarks

  1. Begin by opening up Firefox and selecting "Manage Bookmarks" from the "Bookmarks" menu.


  2. The "Library" dialogue will now open. Select "Import Bookmarks from HTML…" from the "Import and Backup" menu.


  3. The "Import Bookmarks File" dialogue will now appear. "From an HTML File" will automatically be selected, browse, and locate the saved bookmark file on your computer.  Select the file, and click "Open" to continue.  Depending on how many bookmarks you have, it may take a few minutes to complete the import process, when finished the wizard will close.

     


Exporting your Bookmarks

  1. Begin by opening Firefox and selecting "Manage Bookmarks" from the "Bookmarks" menu.


  2. The "Library" dialogue will now open. Select "Export Bookmarks to HTML…" from the "Import and Backup" menu.


  3. Choose a location to save your bookmarks, once done, click “Save.” To simplify the process of importing your "Bookmarks" at a later time, choose a folder that is easy to access such as the desktop or documents folder.  Depending on how many bookmarks you have it may take a few minutes to complete the export process, when finished the wizard will close.
