Creating Favorites and/or Bookmarks

What are Favorites and Bookmarks? These terms are similar to a place holder in a book. They allow you quick access to your most viewed websites with a few clicks of your mouse, and you can save/create as many as you would like.

NOTE: Please be advised, the following Web Browsers are supported by PenTeleData Technical Support:

  • Chrome v80.0 (Windows, MacOS)
  • Firefox v78.0 or higher (Windows, MacOS)
  • Safari v13.0 or higher (MacOS)
  • Safari v5.7 or higher (Windows)
  • MS Edge v80.0 or higher (Windows 10)

All mobile platform users should ensure that they the most updated browser by visiting the Apple store or Google play.  In addition, we have provided additional support as a convenience to our customers for outdated software/browsers.

Google Chrome (Windows)

  1. Begin by opening Google Chrome and navigate to the webpage you wish to add as a Bookmark.
  2. Click on the "Bookmark this page" button (Star Icon).
  3. If you wish to change the name of the Bookmark, you can do so in the "Name" box, when finished; click "Close" to add the webpage into the "Bookmarks bar".
  4. Anytime you wish to access a commonly viewed website (that you previously added), simply click on "Bookmarks" and click the desired website.

Opera (Mac)

Opera has replaced bookmarks with Speed Dial. Learn how to use Speed Dial.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari, navigate to a website, click "Bookmarks" from the top menu, then click "Add Bookmark".
  2. Click "Favorites Bar".
  3. Click "Bookmarks".
  4. Type a name for the bookmark and click "Add".

Firefox (PC)

  1. Open Firefox and navigate to the webpage you wish to add as a Bookmark.
  2. Select "Bookmark This Page" from the "Bookmarks" menu at the top.
  3. If you wish to change the name of the Bookmark, you can do so in the "Name" box, when finished, click "Add" to add the webpage into your "Bookmarks" menu.
  4. Anytime you wish to access a commonly viewed website (that you previously added), simply click on "Bookmarks" and click the desired website.

Google Chrome (Mac)

  1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to a website.
  2. Click "Bookmarks" in the top menu bar, and click "Bookmark This Page".
  3. A window will pop-up letting you know the page has been bookmarked. Click "Done" to close the window.

     

Opera (PC)

Firefox (Mac)

  1. Open Firefox, navigate to a website, then click the "star" icon inside of the address bar.

Internet Explorer 9+

  1. Begin by opening Internet Explorer 9 and navigate to the webpage you wish to add as a Bookmark.
  2. Click on the "View favorites, feeds, and history" button (Star Icon).
  3. Click on the "Add to favorites" button.
  4. If you wish to change the name of the Bookmark, you can do so in the "Name" box, when finished, click "Add" to add the webpage into your "Favorites".
  5. Anytime you wish to access a commonly viewed website (that you previously added), simply click on the "View favorites, feeds, and history" button (Star Icon) and select the desired website.

Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8

  1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the webpage you wish to add as a Favorite.
  2. Select "Add to Favorites" from the "Favorites" menu at the top.
  3. If you wish to change the name of the Favorite, you can do so in the "Name" box, when finished, click "OK" to add the webpage into your "Favorites" menu.
  4. Anytime you wish to access a commonly viewed website (that you previously added), simply click on "Favorites" and click the desired website.
