Account Management Overview

This guide will walk you through the features available on the PenTeleData "Account Management" page.

Forgot password

You can contact the PenTeleData Customer Service Department for assistance. Since PenTeleData accounts are secure, Customer Service will need to verify your identity and ensure that you are authorized to have access to the account before releasing your password(s).

Disk Space Statistics

From the customer overview panel, select the "Disk Space Statistics" link.

From here you will be able to monitor how much space you are using for your personal storage space.

This will show you by date and how much space you have used.

  • There is a maximum of 1GB of storage space
  • Only primary accounts will have access to use the personal storage space.
  • Non-primary account will not show any information on this page. 

Email Subscriptions

From the customer overview panel, select the "Email Subscriptions" link.

From here you will be able to opt out of receiving emails from PenTeleData.

There are two types of email that PenTeleData will send out.

  • PTD Service Affecting Notifications: informative emails to notify you about any service affecting issues that may be occurring.
  • PTD Customer Correspondence: e-mails that include information on new products, promotions, and the PenTeleData newsletter.

If you would like to opt out of these emails, simply uncheck the box next to the type you would like to no longer receive. If at any time you would like to receive these emails again simply check the box next to that type.

After you have changed any settings, click on the "Change Subscriptions" button.

Change Password

From the customer overview panel, select the "Change Password" link.

Enter your current password in the field labeled "Current Password".

Enter your new password in the "New Password" and "New Password(Again)" fields.

  • Your new password will need to be at least seven characters and no more than 29.
  • Your password also must contain at least 1 number or a special character.

Click on the "Change Password" button. After you have changed your password you will see a message displaying that the change was successful. Get more information on better password practices.

Problem Report

From the customer overview panel, select the "Problem Report" link.

From here you will be able to submit a trouble ticket to PenTeleData.

To do this, select the service you are experiencing issues with from the drop down box labeled "Type of Service".

Next, enter a summary of your problem and then enter a description of the issue that you are experiencing.

If you have any special requests on how or when to be contacted please note this in the description field.

Once all fields have been completed, click on the "Create Trouble Ticket" button.

Once we have received your report, a representative will be in contact with you shortly.

Email Usage

From the customer overview panel, select the "E-mail Usage" link. From here you will be able to see the current details of your mailbox. 

Manage Account

Begin by going to ptd.net and clicking on the "Account Management" link under "PenTeleData Customer Tools".

From the "Manage Your Account" page enter your username and password and click "Log In".

Once you are logged in you will be able to forward your email, change your password, report problems, manage email subscriptions, and view statistics for your mailbox.

Email Forwarding

To begin forwarding all of your email to a different email address, click on the "Email Forwarding" link located in the customer overview panel.

In the box labeled "New Forward Address", enter the address that you would like your email to be forwarded to.

In the box labeled "Enter your password", enter the password that corresponds to your ptd.net email address.

Click on the "Change email forward" button.
After the forward has been added, you will see a message that mail forwarding has been changed.

Removing Email Forwarding:

To remove an email forward from your email address, begin by going to the "Email Forwarding" page.

From here ensure that the box labeled "New Forward Address" is empty.

In the box labeled "Enter your password" enter the password that corresponds to your ptd.net email address.

When finished click on the "Change email forward" button.

After the forward has been removed, you will see a message that mail forwarding has been removed.

Usenet Statistics

From the customer overview panel, select the "Usenet Statistics" link. From here you will see the current details of how much bandwidth you have used on the Usenet service. 

On-Line Time (DSL and Dial-up Customers only)

From the customer overview panel, select the "On-Line Time" link.

From here you will be able to view the times you connected to PenTeleData with information based on the time period selected.

To start a report, select a date from the "Start Data for report" line.

Next, select how far you wish to run the report from the box next to "How far back to report".

When you have everything filled out, click the "Generate Report" button.
